This was one of my first knives, made in the winter of 1994/95. The blade is from Atlanta Cutlery, and the rest is made by me. It's balance and feel is a thing of beauty, perhaps more than the simplistic workmanship. The name Hawthorne was filled with all sorts of wonderful imagery for me at the time, being both the writer and the type of plant, a genus in the rose family with long, slender thorns. Some say that Jesus' crown was made of Hawthorne, and in some mythologies it is also a Vampire bane... << Back |
