BIO:

Hi.

Welcome to the nutshell where I put my online life.

My name is Kevin Inouye. Beyond that, I try not to put anything too specific here, since it might be a while before I update it again. Perhaps a disclaimer will do: actual information subject to change without notice.

In 2004, I find myself still living in Seattle, where I've been for about three years now. I've been working at Antioch University Seattle as Assistant Front Office Manager, doing theater, film, and martial arts on the side, studying stage combat, and living with Chandra Curtin -- who on October 19th, 2002 became Chandra Inouye, my wife. We've got two adorable if mischievous cats, Tybalt and Tomoe, who live with us in the Seattle area.

Chandra works as an advocate at an abuse center here in Seattle.

We met at Earlham College, which I graduated from in 1998 with a BA in Psychology. I've since abandoned that path. Chandra was a dual Japanese Studies/Theater major, class of '00, and has since moved more towards crisis counseling. I guess that's the joy of a liberal arts degree -- few people really expect you to stick with your major.

Up until 2003, I'd been averaging about 2 shows a year, and taken classes in fencing, bujinkan ninpo taijutsu (which I studied for about 5 years before moving here), tai chi, wing chun, stage combat, Italian, and I'm looking into Kajukenbo. I've attended workshops on English backsword and rapier technique, and film fights. I've done reference modeling for an AD&D illustration and a Lord of the Rings video game. I've made a few knives. Lately I've been throwing myself more wholly into theatre/film/stunts/stage combat, and starting a small props rental company.

Again, I'm hesitant in describing myself or my situation, since I have a feeling I'm in the midst of a time of change. With luck, it will be a good thing.

For those of you wanting to know more, people I used to know finding me again through web searches, etc, please feel free to look around. There are links here to many of the people and places where I spend my time and energy, a link to my journal, and a smattering of pictures. Compliments to Chandra on the webpage design. Likewise, I've had contact in the past from people who found my site through keyword searches for swordsmanship, stage combat, seattle, or other interests, and if I have time I'm happy to chat.

Until then, or the next update, enjoy!
